Congratulations to Zuckerman Faculty Scholar Ido Goldstein on receiving the 2025 Jens Sandahl Christiansen Award for Basic Science. The prestigious  prize is presented annually by the European Society of Endocrinology to researchers who significantly advance understanding of the body’s metabolism.

Dr. Goldstein was recognized for his outstanding basic research in metabolism and strong focus on nutrition and ketogenesis. His recent studies on ketogenesis (how the body produces energy from fat), conducted at his  Nutrigenomics, Liver Biology, and Gene Expression Lab at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, offer vital new insights into diabetes and fatty liver disease.

As an awardee, Dr. Goldstein will present a plenary lecture at the 2026 European Congress of Endocrinology next May.
