Aaron Mueller, a Zuckerman Postdoctoral Scholar alumn, joined Boston University as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science after a postdoc that bridged Israel and the US. With Zuckerman support, Dr. Mueller split his time between the Computer Science faculties at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and Northeastern University in Boston, studying how to improve the reasoning abilities of language models. His research has continued to reflect that international foundation, including collaborations with Technion researchers on interpretability and language models. In his lab at Boston University, he now works to bring responsible science to the rapidly changing field of AI, focusing on how to bridge the conceptual gap between human and AI knowledge and develop systems that remain understandable throughout training and deployment.
