Shira Tanny, a Zuckerman Israeli Postdoctoral Scholar alumna, completed her postdoctoral work at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and returned to Israel as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Her research focuses on symplectic and contact topology, Hamiltonian dynamics, Floer-type theories, and the mathematical structures that connect geometry with motion. The Princeton postdoctoral period gave Dr. Tanny access to one of the world’s most influential mathematics communities and helped expand her network of US colleagues and collaborators. At Weizmann, she brings that international perspective into her research program, strengthening ties between Israeli mathematics and the broader US geometry and topology community.
