Ido Goldstein

Congratulations to Ido Goldstein, Zuckerman Faculty Scholar at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, on receiving the European Society of Endocrinology’s Jens Sandahl Christiansen Award for Basic Science at the 2026 European Congress of Endocrinology in Prague. Dr. Goldstein was recognized for his research on “Molecular memory: how the liver remembers fasting.” As part of the award, he will deliver a lecture about his research at next year’s ESE conference.

The Goldstein Lab at Hebrew University investigates how mammals adapt to recurrent and frequent bouts of fasting. Dr. Goldstein was recognized for his pioneering research in metabolism and nutrition, particularly his work on the molecular links between diet, gene regulation, and liver biology. His studies offer important new insights into metabolic diseases such as diabetes and fatty liver disease, and continue to advance understanding of the hepatic fasting response.
