Close to 200 guests participated in the Fifth Annual Zuckerman US-Israel Symposium, Celebrating Five Years of Achievement, in Tel Aviv on November 15.

 

In addition to recognizing the unprecedented number of scholars and growing number of women in our program, the evening was a celebration of new and continuing partnerships, and an opportunity to welcome our newest faculty scholars. These seven talented Israeli scientists returned to Israel, and will be opening their own labs at seven Israeli universities.

Among those who joined the celebration were current Zuckerman scholars and alumni; university presidents Alon Chen, Weizmann Institute; Ariel Porat, Tel Aviv University; Arie Zaban, Bar-Ilan University; Boaz Golany, Executive Vice President & Director General, Technion; and university rectors; Yaffa Zilbershats, former Chair of the Budget Committee, Israeli Council for Higher Education; Joe Wierichs, Counselor for Public Affairs, US Embassy, Jerusalem; Jacob Frenkel, former Governor, Bank of Israel, and Chair of the Frenkel-Zuckerman Institute for Global Economics; Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; Khaled Yusuf Al-Jalahma, Bahraini Ambassador to Israel; and Abdel Allali, Minister Plenipotentiary, Liaison Office of the Kingdom of Morocco in Tel Aviv.
