Avia Raviv-Moshe believes that opportunity for new discoveries exists outside the exact categories of well-established fields. For her PhD in Physics (High Energy Theory) at Tel Aviv University in the School of Physics and Astronomy, she applied quantum field theory, the most accurate physical theory that has been constructed to date, to diverse areas in physics: from high-energy particle physics to low-energy condensed matter physics. She focused on the study of the applications of Lifshitz scaling symmetry to quantum field theory and to supersymmetry.

In her postdoctoral position at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University, an extremely competitive and prestigious research institution, Dr. Raviv-Moshe continues to research the role of discrete and continuous symmetries in quantum field theory, hoping to provide new insights into quantum field theory and particle physics, as well as useful applications to physical systems in condensed matter.

Dr. Raviv-Moshe has won teaching awards. For a physics lab she taught at TAU, she supervised 25 instructors in a course with over 900 first-year undergraduate physics, chemistry, and engineering students.
