Six Zuckerman Faculty Scholars have been awarded 2025 BSF Research Grants by the U.S.-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF). The organization fosters academic partnership between the United States and Israel, and funds original, hypothesis-driven collaborative research across scientific fields.  Grants cover a two-to-four-year period of research.

Congratulations to Hebrew University of Jerusalem Faculty Scholars Danny Ben-Zvi, Einav Tayeb-Fligelman and Itay Raphael; Tel Aviv University Faculty Scholars Assaf Ramot  and Dekel Rosenfeld;  and University of Haifa Faculty Scholar Shani Stern.

The winning research projects:

• Danny Ben-Zvi:  Control of gastric and intestinal ghrelin secretions
• Einav Tayeb-Fligelman: Influence of microbiome-derived metabolites in Alzheimer’s disease
• Itay Raphael: Epigenetic approaches to strengthening immunotherapy for H3K27M-mutant gliomas
• Assaf Ramot:  Affect of stress on motor cortical dynamics and learning
• Dekel Rosenfeld: Remote magnetothermal stimulation to enhance collagen fiber remodeling in the periodontal ligament
• Shani Stern: Using patient-derived fibrils and brain organoids to study cell-specific pathology in Parkinson’s disease, multiple system atrophy
