Joshua Macdonald
Congratulations to Zuckerman Postdoctoral Scholar alum Joshua Macdonald on his appointment as an assistant scientist, a research-track faculty position in the Department of International Health, Global Disease Epidemiology and Control, at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Macdonald’s new lab will study how ecological, environmental, and social structures shape the transmission of biological and cultural traits. His work combines dynamical-systems theory, statistical inference, and physics-informed machine learning to identify patterns that make complex biological and environmental systems more predictable. The lab will also develop open computational tools to support model simulation and evaluation, helping guide research and decision-making in complex systems.
