Omer Revah

Congratulations to Omer Revah, Zuckerman Faculty Scholar at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and his colleagues on the publication of “Researchers are building computers that run on brain organoids — but have neglected a major ethical issue” in Nature. The article explores the emerging field of brain-based biocomputing, in which lab-grown human brain organoids are used to process information, and argues that this fast-developing area requires stronger ethical oversight. Revah and his co-authors emphasize the need for clearer, more specific donor consent, especially as human neural tissue may be used in future computing applications beyond traditional biomedical research.
