Shani Stern

Zuckerman Faculty Scholar Shani Stern presented her latest research on Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) at the International MSA Congress in Boston earlier this month. MSA is a rare, rapidly-progressing neurodegenerative disorder which currently has no cure.

In her Precision Disease Modeling Lab at the University of Haifa, Dr. Stern and her team use multiple differentiation techniques to derive human neurons and other brain cells from patients with neurological disorders to identify underlying disease states of the human brain, with the goal of improving treatment.
