Congratulations to Zuckerman Israeli Postdoctoral Scholar (alum) Yaniv Romano, on being named a recipient of the 2024 Krill Prize for Excellence in Scientific Research.

Dr. Romano was recognized for his groundbreaking contributions in the field of data science, machine learning, and signal processing. Among them are his innovative methods that ensure reliability of advanced learning systems; a unique theory explaining key aspects of deep learning; and technologies that significantly enhance the ability to reproduce visual information from low-quality images. Tools for estimating uncertainty (prediction intervals) developed by Dr. Romano were used by The Washington Post to predict US election results in 2020.
