Zuckerman Faculty Scholars Elected to the Israel Young Academy

Congratulations to  Zuckerman Faculty Scholar Yoav Shechtman  on his election to the Israel Young Academy. He is among a select group of nine early-career scientists who were chosen for their outstanding contributions to research and academic excellence in Israel.

Founded by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities in 2012, the Israel Young Academy is dedicated to the professional development of Israel’s outstanding early-career scientists, and aims to deepen their engagement with Israeli society and policymakers. The program also builds meaningful connections with emerging researchers around the globe.

Prof. Shechtman heads the Nano-Bio-Optics Lab at the Technion’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, where he and his team develop novel microscopy tools to answer biological questions on the nano scale. He is the recipient of a prestigious ERC grant.
