Celebrating Women in STEM
The Third Annual Zuckerman US-Israel Symposium, Celebrating Women in STEM, took place on November 3, 2019 at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel

Celebrating Women in STEM

In addition to celebrating the unprecedented number of female scholars in the Zuckerman STEM Leadership program (54%), the third annual Zuckerman US-Israel Symposium focused on the importance of advancing and promoting the role of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
Successful women in STEM spoke about:
- Making meaningful scientific and technological discoveries
- Shifting the gender balance in STEM
- The role that government should take in advancing STEM
“
Our uncle Mort Zuckerman would be kvelling over the impressive group here today, especially by the overwhelming number of women in the program. We consider the Zuckerman STEM Leadership Program to be a ripple of hope and a center of energy, and we’re confident that this great collaboration will have a lasting impact on the world.

Everyone asks me, ‘How do I win a Nobel prize?’ I have one piece of advice: Don’t look for advice. Do what you’re interested in.

Thank you to all the Zuckerman participants for taking a very special part in Israel’s ‘brain gain.’ We are so very proud of this program, and we’re going to make sure it stays forever.
